For Community Leaders
Great communities deserve great adventures.
Every thriving community has someone who naturally brings people together. A cycling club leader. A yoga instructor. A pickleball organizer. A fitness coach. A wellness advocate. A volunteer.
If people already trust you… why not explore the world together?
We’re not looking for travel experts. We’re looking for people who naturally bring others together.
A PEDAL & PORT Community Host is someone who already brings people together and wants to explore travelling with their community. The Host brings the relationships, trust and understanding of their people — we help with the travel planning, coordination and support.
You already do this.
You just haven’t taken them abroad yet.
Almost every meaningful thing I’ve been part of started the same way — not with a company, but with a person. The friend who organises the Sunday ride. The instructor who notices the newcomer at the back of the room and makes them feel expected. The organizer who keeps a whole circle of people connected without much fuss at all.
They rarely think of themselves as leaders. They’re simply the ones others already trust. That trust is the hardest thing in the world to build — and it’s the one thing no travel company can manufacture. I wrote more about how to organize a group trip without becoming the travel agent in the Journal, and before you plan anything, on how to know whether your community would actually travel together.
Leaders who
- lead communities
- create shared memories
- build stronger relationships
- inspire people
- welcome newcomers
- encourage active living
- help communities experience the world together
Leadership isn’t about being in front.
It’s about helping others move forward together.
Every community is different. Every journey is built that way.
There is no template, and no lengthy application — just a short conversation to start.
§ i
We start with a conversation
No lengthy applications. No pressure. Just a conversation about your community, who they are, what they love, and what kind of journey would be most meaningful for them.
§ ii
We shape the journey together
Every community is different, so every hosted journey is created collaboratively. Cycling, river or ocean, walking, wellness — the shape follows your people.
§ iii
We handle the travel side
Planning, trusted supplier partnerships, booking coordination, guest communication. The logistical weight shouldn't fall on the person doing the generous work of gathering everyone.
§ iv
You lead. We support.
The host stays the host. The community stays yours. We're alongside you before, during, and after — so the experience is worthy of the people you've brought together.
Two equal partners. One shared journey.

Lead with purpose. The rest follows.
Strengthen your community
Shared travel does something no weekly meet-up can. People come home closer than they left.
Create lifelong memories
The ride through the vineyards. The long table at dusk. The stories your group will still be telling years from now.
Offer something unique
Give your community an experience they could never assemble on their own — and one they'll associate with you.
Grow as a leader
Hosting a journey stretches you in the best way. You'll return with more confidence than you left with.
And yes — hosts are looked after
Depending on the journey, hosts may receive travel credits, hosted journey benefits, and additional rewards where applicable. We’ll always be transparent about this — but we’ll never lead with it. The best hosted journeys are led by people who would have done it anyway.
Questions Worth Asking
First.
- A PEDAL & PORT Community Host is someone who already brings people together and wants to explore travelling with their community. The Host brings the relationships, trust and understanding of their people, while PEDAL & PORT helps with the travel planning, coordination and support.
- No. PEDAL & PORT is interested in people who genuinely bring others together, whether that community exists through a cycling club, fitness group, wellness community, workplace, social group or another real-world network. A large online following is not required.
- Typically, yes. Community Hosts are generally part of the journey, helping bring the group together and creating the sense of community that makes the experience special. The exact role can vary depending on the experience.
- We begin with a conversation about your community, the kind of experience you have in mind, and what would make the journey feel right. From there, we can shape a proposal together. Timing depends on the destination, season, and type of experience, so lead times are typically discussed together during planning.
- It depends on the journey and the supplier. Some experiences work well with smaller groups, while others are better suited to larger ones. We confirm the appropriate group size as part of the planning process.
- Journeys are shaped around the people coming. Pace, distance, activity level, rest days, and other practical considerations can all be part of the planning conversation. If someone has a specific accessibility or mobility need, it is best to raise it early so available options can be checked with the relevant suppliers.
- A sense of your community, a rough group size, the time of year you are considering, and the kind of experience you think they would enjoy is enough to begin. You do not need to arrive with an itinerary or travel expertise.
Let’s Create Something Your Community Will Remember.
Every memorable community journey begins with a conversation.
Tell us about your community, what brings people together, and the kind of experience you’d love to create. If you’d like a sense of what a shared journey can look like, explore our Hosted Experiences.
Whether you already have an idea or you’re simply exploring what’s possible, we’d love to hear from you.
There’s no pressure, no obligation, and no expectation that everything is figured out. Just the beginning of a conversation.
It only takes a few minutes to get started.

In Closing
Your community already trusts you.Imagine where you could take them.
The people who gather others rarely set out to build anything. They simply keep showing up — and somewhere along the way, friendships form, traditions take root, and ordinary weeks turn into the memories people carry for years.
That is the quiet work of a community leader, and we believe it deserves something remarkable. Helping those experiences happen — the shared road, the long table, the story told again years later — is the whole reason PEDAL & PORT exists.
